Why did Sarah Palin forsake Jesus Christ and refuse to visit Bethlehem?

It made me sad to hear that Sarah Palin decided not to visit the birthplace of our Lord and Savior. First Gov. Palin forsakes the Cross of Jesus for the star of david and now this? How do Christian-Conservatives explain this to their children? I don't think we can support her any longer and still consider ourselves Christians.
