Is God making my sick friend linger because I'm going to the wrong church ?

There is not right and wrong church. Your home church is just that where you feel at home. If he were a real friend he wouldn't make you feel uncomfortable for where you go to church. How He survived is but for the grace of God not because God is punishing you.
